Pilgrim-testdrive

Hi!

Boy, have I a treat for you! Here comes the first test drive with my character Quentin from my upcoming comic "Pilgrim". It will be published on the web, stay tuned for details. What you see here is more of a sequence than a comic, I simply wanted to give the character a go, and try it out. And as always this is a piece of process, I'm going to work on it some more. Next week, another test drive will be published, with the second lead character of "Pilgrim"! Enjoy!

Take care!

The correct violin words.

For this update I thought I should correct my poor violin English from one of my earlier update, so here are the correct words:

stämskruvar/pegs
stall/bridge
ljudpinne/sound post
stränghållare/tailpiece
översadel/top nut
kind- och axelstöd/chin- and shoulder rest

There you have it!

Take care!

The icon is finished!

Hi!

As I told you earlier I attended an iconpainting course this autumn. Even though we spend all days painting I didn't finish it during the week, so I finished it at home. This has probably been the most eventful icon yet in my life... A couple of weeks ago, I dropped my brush which was full of burned umber paint, on Lukes right eye, so it looked like he had been in a fight! After screaming out loud for a couple of minutes... and asking Luke if he was testing me... I kind of sorted it all out! Later when I was doing the lettering, I made an itsy bitsy mistake that led to having pencil-smudges on the halo and under the letters, which looked like it sounds, awful! But after employing my mad colorblending skills, it all worked out. The hardest part of this icon was the face, which took the most time to paint, the second hardest was the cloak, to get the right nuance of red... and the third was the the lettering, for me lettering or the skill to write aesthetically is something I will work on. For now the icon is going to get some rest, about 6 months and then I'm going to put varnish on it. I think Luke is more happy with this one. It seems that Luke and I have gotten to know each other a little bit during these months. I really hope he likes it.

Take care!
